Philip Orso - Testimonial

My name is Philip Orso,

I have spent much of my life keeping a very healthy lifestyle, working hard, and trying to help others. Having been fortunate in many ways, I feel it was important to find a way to bring something meaningful to the  lives of children in need. I also wanted to do something within the context of my faith, which has been a very important part of my life.

I found such a way by giving a bequest to an amazing orphanage in Honduras called the “Acción Humana de la Luz Eterna,” (AHLE) or the Human Action of the Eternal Light, which is run by the AJC Children’s Foundation in Fort Lauderdale.  Currently at this orphanage are 70 boys who are provided with housing, meals, clothes, shoes, schooling, medicine, and all other essentials. They are taught skills like: welding, auto mechanic, music, English, agriculture…

But most of all, it is a nurturing environment where the children are cared for by an amazing team of staff and tutors who give them the tools to be good people and break the cycle of neglect and abandonment.

What really caught my eye about this amazing place is the fact that 91 percent of donations and bequests go directly to the costs of the orphanage and not to the overhead of administration or unnecessary expenses.

I visited the orphanage and saw for myself how well run the place is and how terrific it’s professionals manage the place.

I think that you may agree that solid goals and a sense of purpose are worth showing to a new generation who will then understand and appreciate the humanity and faith that are so important in this challenging world.

When you have a chance, please go to Facebook and search for “AJC Children’s Foundation” and see their amazing work, how they have been impacting young lives for a better future.  I encourage my friends and others to consider being a part of this truly wonderful experience.

I made a bequest by simply going to my Charles Schwab Brokerage account and adding AJC Children’s Foundation as a beneficiary, and setting a percentage. You can do this on your brokerage, IRA, Keogh, 401K and Insurance policy. You will have total control of these accounts you can increase, decrease, eliminate at any time. If something should happen to me, AJC Children’s Foundation will be well provided for and they have the option to take all or any part of the bequest or invest it and use only the interest or dividends for operations.

I made the personal decision not to leave money to heirs that have a good life,  but to donate to the poorest of the poor.

God bless you all!

Phil
