Hurricane Eta and Iota - Honduras Update

Appeal for Building Materials

We are very relieved to announce that our facility in Honduras, as well as the children and staff are safe, however the destruction in the communities near by in the lowlands due to flooding and wind is devastating in a country that is already struggling with extreme poverty.

Together with the municipality in our area we are identifying the people in most need and we are raising funds to purchase building materials. The maintenance team of our foundation along with the older boys will do the construction work, from installing roofs to fixing collapsed walls to building whole basic houses with block.

As a guideline: a new roof needs 30 sheets of metal roofing, an average size wall will needs 2 pallets of blocks, 10 bags of cement and a load of construction sand.
